About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic leader responsible for aligning financial strategies with the company's mission and objectives. This role involves collaborating with the leadership team to drive financial performance, manage risks, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The CFO will lead a high-performing team in finance, accounting, risk management, and technology, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a financial strategy that aligns with the company's overall mission and objectives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company's financial position and industry trends to anticipate and manage risks.
  • Proactively communicate the company's financial strategy and performance to stakeholders.
  • Provide analytics and insights to support the President and Management Team.
  • Enhance processes to define key business levers, optimal targets, and performance metrics.
  • Manage capital structure ensuring optimal leverage of financial resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements and maintain internal controls.
  • Leverage technology platforms for continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Lead and retain high-performance finance/accounting, risk management, and technology teams.
  • Invest in the professional growth of the team through mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Build long-term relationships with auditors, banks, and other external vendors.

Requirements

  • Broad leadership experience in financial strategy, capital management, FP&A, risk management, compliance, and accounting.
  • Ability to identify key business drivers and develop strategic initiatives.
  • Proven success in attracting, retaining, and developing high-performance teams.
  • Expertise in leading operational excellence and enterprise-wide technology solutions.
  • Experience in privately held companies, professional services, engineering, architectural design, or construction industries.
  • Financial leadership experience in an Employee-Owned (ESOP) company is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field; MBA, CMA, or CPA preferred.
