About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Arkansas Foodbank is responsible for the strategic direction of the finance and human resources functions within the organization. This role oversees the integrity of financial documents, manages budgeting, financial analysis, and grants oversight, while ensuring cost control accuracy. The CFO collaborates with the HR & Finance department to implement new strategies and initiatives, and is committed to the mission of hunger relief in Arkansas.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement all financial functions and related administrative processes for the Arkansas Foodbank.
  • Work with Human Resource staff to ensure successful talent acquisition and employee relations.
  • Ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization while fostering a productive workplace culture.
  • Design, implement, evaluate, and adjust internal controls over financial processes.
  • Attend meetings of the Board of Directors and its various committees as requested.
  • Provide guidance, training, and technical assistance to staff and volunteers in bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
  • Coordinate annual audit and tax filings.
  • Prepare the annual budget proposal for presentation to the Board of Directors.
  • Establish administrative purchasing procedures and oversee Foodbank purchasing functions.
  • Review, evaluate, and administer Foodbank's business insurance needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance preferred.
  • Professional certification - Certified Public Accounting required.
  • Five years supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient with computer operations including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
