About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leads all financial activities of the IASLC, ensuring financial integrity, sustainability, and security of the organization's financial assets. The CFO develops and directs a comprehensive financial strategy, including policy development, budget planning, risk management, and oversight of accounting systems. This role is crucial for maintaining the IASLC's growth as a financially stable international non-profit organization, working closely with the CEO and other key stakeholders to implement strategic financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all IASLC financial and accounting operations and staff, executing fiduciary responsibility.
  • Provide financial expertise and leadership to stakeholders including the CEO, senior leadership team, and Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to manage all accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants management.
  • Develop, review, manage, and recommend strategies, budgets, and contracts to ensure compliance and best value for the IASLC.
  • Manage the annual external audit process, budgeting processes, and daily financial management.
  • Implement and maintain policies for accounting, risk management, internal controls, and business ethics.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and profitability across business segments.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture between departments.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with Colorado licensure.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant executive experience in finance for organizations with budgets/assets over $8 million.
  • 5 years of financial experience in nonprofit organizations or associations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with responsibility for financial data quality and audit coordination.
