About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at DeBra-Kuempel Inc. is a key executive role responsible for overseeing the financial, accounting, and operational functions of the organization. The CFO will support the CEO and executive management team in achieving the company's vision and objectives, while also leading the accounting department to ensure compliance and effective financial management. This position requires strategic partnership with the CEO, participation in project reviews, and collaboration across departments to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CEO and executive management team in achieving the organization's vision, goals, and objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, operating independently and effectively within agreed timelines.
  • Lead the accounting department in developing processes and procedures for regulatory compliance and accounting controls.
  • Prepare for and participate in monthly project reviews with the CEO and executive staff to evaluate job performance and assess risks.
  • Manage cash flow on projects and develop credit and collections policies.
  • Advise the CEO on financial aspects of contracts and collaborate with peers to leverage shared knowledge.
  • Motivate and advance the accounting and finance department to align with the company's operational vision.
  • Promote the company's Code of Ethics in conducting business.

Requirements

  • MBA in accounting/finance or related discipline preferred, with 5-10 years of professional experience in senior management positions in accounting or finance.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related discipline required, with 10-15 years of professional experience in senior management positions.
  • CPA accreditation preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of FASB, SOX, IRS, DBA, and Federal and State regulations relevant to the position.
  • Familiarity with construction contract language and experience with Federal contracts and construction accounting.
  • Advanced computer skills with various accounting applications and Microsoft Office expertise, particularly in Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with COINS or Vista Viewpoint accounting systems or conversions.
  • Industry and/or local market experience.
