About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Pinkerton is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the company's accounting functions on a global scale. This position entails implementing and maintaining a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards. As a key member of the leadership team, the CFO will manage all aspects of accounting operations, including the monthly close cycle, internal and external financial reporting, and the development of internal controls and policies. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader, ready to guide and develop the accounting team to enhance internal processes critical for effective and efficient workflows. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both in-office and remote work, specifically located in Ann Arbor, MI. In this role, the CFO will represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence while leading the global accounting and finance functions. The CFO will provide expert guidance on financial matters, manage accounting resources, and prepare presentations for the parent company's Global Executive leadership team. Responsibilities also include coordinating internal and external audits, implementing recommendations from audit findings, and developing accounting policies and procedures. The CFO will collaborate with various stakeholders to analyze financial and operational data, oversee regulatory reports and filings, and manage treasury functions such as cash management and payroll. Additionally, the CFO will lead process improvements within the accounting department, provide technical accounting guidance, and advise management on potential risks and opportunities for enhancing financial performance. This role requires a proactive approach, sound judgment, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, all while maintaining confidentiality and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Company's accounting functions worldwide.
  • Implement and maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the parent company Global Executive leadership team.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement recommendations from audit findings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to analyze financial and operating data.
  • Oversee the preparation of regulatory reports and filings for various agencies.
  • Manage treasury functions including cash management, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Lead accounting process improvements and change initiatives.
  • Provide technical accounting GAAP/IFRS guidance to company entities.
  • Advise management on potential risks and enhance financial performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years of finance/accounting experience in a global organization.
  • CPA/CMA certification is a plus.
  • Advanced accounting skills with a strong technical background.
  • Expert financial and analytical skills across GAAP, IFRS, and tax matters.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/D365 ERP system preferred.
  • Ability to think beyond financial implications to business decisions.
  • Experience in a heavy transactional environment is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and direct a high-performing team.
  • Experience with regulatory filing and compliance procedures.

  • Experience in scaling an organization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SOC standards is a plus.
  • Solid verbal, written, and presentation skills.
