About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position at a prestigious educational institution in Central Maine is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing financial and physical resources. The CFO will play a crucial role in developing financial policies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance while fostering a collaborative and dynamic culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and overseeing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Administering the annual budget, multi-year forecasting, and maintaining account records
  • Overseeing core business functions, including billing, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, and compliance
  • Managing maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment
  • Providing timely financial reports and analyses
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing staff, offering constructive feedback and support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles & successful track record in a senior administrative role
  • Strong leadership skills with a talent for organizing people and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and a detail-oriented approach
