About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Physician Services at UCHealth is a pivotal leadership role responsible for steering the financial strategy and management of physician services within a top-tier, physician-led group practice. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to align financial goals with the organization's strategic plan, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. The CFO will oversee budgeting, financial performance evaluation, and the development of policies that impact the physician services division, while also acting as a resource for population health initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Align departmental strategy with overall financial goals of the organization.
  • Develop impactful policies, practices, and procedures for the physician services division.
  • Evaluate financial and operational performance of physician services and recommend enhancements.
  • Strategically develop annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Implement and monitor budget, providing regular analysis to the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Foster effective relationships and open dialogue with staff and leadership teams.
  • Facilitate communication regarding financial goals and strategies with the leadership team.
  • Communicate financial needs of physician services clearly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop strategy, operating policies, and business plans.
  • Ensure realistic and sustainable staffing models in collaboration with leadership.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in finance, health care administration, or related field preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Experience as a finance executive in a large health system or multi-discipline medical group preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience in matrixed reporting relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in value-based purchasing agreements.
  • Knowledge of credentialing and payer enrollments.
  • Familiarity with self-funded health plans.
