About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including accounting and audit functions, as well as managing the Cage and Drop & Count Departments. The CFO will develop and implement financial strategies to preserve company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policies. This role requires accurate financial reporting and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Create, develop, and implement an effective financial organization strategy for the property.
  • Ensure the quality of management operations in all areas of the Finance Department.
  • Monitor activities to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company controls.
  • Maintain knowledge of GAAP standards and ensure timely completion of financial reports.
  • Establish production standards and departmental policies for effective Finance Department operations.
  • Review daily financial reports for accuracy.
  • Coordinate and prepare detailed monthly financial reports and the annual business plan.
  • Organize financial analysis regarding capital expenditures, casino revenue, labor control, and budget forecasting.
  • Review departmental reports and address potential conflicts or misinformation.
  • Maintain good working relationships with the Gaming Commission and tax commissions.
  • Supervise the Finance Department and oversee the Cage and Drop & Count Department.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; manage performance and resolve issues.
  • Facilitate communication through regular meetings with the Finance Team.
  • Ensure accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement is 21.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related area; or six years of related experience or training; or equivalent education and experience.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years in financial analysis or related area, preferably in the gaming industry.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, expense analysis, cost benefit analysis, and financial statement interpretation.
  • Extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate with superior spreadsheet skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and data.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Consistent attendance and availability as needed for the position.
  • Ability to obtain and retain gaming license through Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the gaming industry is preferred.
