About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Service Area in Los Angeles Valley is a key member of the leadership team responsible for setting financial strategies and achieving operational goals within the service area. This role involves collaboration with local and regional leaders to drive financial performance, manage budgets, and oversee transformation efforts. The CFO will also represent the service area in finance leadership roles with joint ventures and boards, ensuring alignment with the overall mission and values of Providence St. Joseph Health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to ensure achievement of service area operating results and strategies as delegated by the Regional CFO and Service Area CEO.
  • Work with service area leadership teams to solve problems and implement strategies that improve financial performance.
  • Drive the details and strategy for service area budgets, managing to appropriate financial benchmarks and reporting indicators.
  • Assist the service area CEO with monthly operating reviews and serve on joint venture boards or committees as delegated by regional leadership.
  • Oversee relationships with key shared services partners such as Revenue Cycle, Real Estate and Facilities, and System Accounting and Finance.
  • Communicate regularly with core leaders and employees on financial-related items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance related field.
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance related field (preferred).
  • Certified Public Accountant (preferred).
  • HFMA or FACHE certification (preferred).
  • 10 or more years of closely related experience.
  • 10 or more years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and solve problems using mathematical methods.
