The Epilepsy Foundation is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide executive-level leadership and strategic direction to the finance and accounting functions of the organization. This role is crucial for ensuring the overall short- and long-term financial stability of the Foundation, which has been dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by epilepsy for over 65 years. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and will be an integral member of the leadership team, responsible for advising on financial matters, delivering accurate and timely financial reports, analyzing data, generating forecasts, and overseeing the annual budgeting process and external audit. In addition to these responsibilities, the CFO will manage relationships with external vendors and serve as the primary staff liaison to the Finance, Investment, and Audit Committees. This includes providing financial data to the Board of Directors to ensure appropriate fiscal oversight of the organization's activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance or accounting, particularly within government-funded nonprofit human service organizations, and will possess experience with large-scale federal grants. The CFO will also be tasked with developing and leading a mission-driven and results-oriented team across multiple locations, fostering a positive team culture. A successful track record in setting priorities, shaping processes, guiding investment in people and systems, and developing an infrastructure for organizational efficiency is essential. This position offers a competitive salary range of $200,000 to $230,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package, and allows for remote work from anywhere in the U.S., with the expectation of working on Central or Eastern Standard Time. Anticipated travel is approximately one week per quarter for board meetings and national events.
