About the position

This strategic leadership role is designed for an ambitious CFO in a high-growth private company, focusing on maximizing growth, profitability, and long-term value. The position requires a partnership with the entrepreneurial Managing Director/Owner to execute a proven strategy and drive the company into its next phase of growth. The role encompasses a broad scope beyond traditional CFO responsibilities, including team leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and operational optimization.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead & develop the finance team.
• Oversee the strategic planning process.
• Optimize business operations to grow profits and resolve issues.
• Manage finance, accounts, cash flow, and reporting.
• Handle commercial projects, risk management, banking, and disputes.
• Oversee people performance and recruitment processes.
• Manage IT infrastructure, systems, and support.
• Oversee property, facilities, and capital projects.
• Lead acquisitions and integration efforts.

Requirements

• Strong career progression in finance, commercial, or general management.
• Experience in a high-growth private business, ideally working directly for the owner.
• Proven ability to implement processes and systems to professionalize a business during growth stages.
• M&A experience, particularly with bolt-on business acquisitions and integration.
• Commercial experience, including contract negotiation and dispute management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the mining industry or related sectors.
• Familiarity with mineral processing technology.
