About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Stellar Communities will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy and operations of the company. This role involves collaboration with the CEO and executive team to ensure effective financial planning, analysis, and compliance. The CFO will lead the accounting department and manage financial reporting, audits, and cash management, contributing to the overall success of the organization in the multifamily real estate sector.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the Accounting Department including day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting functions, development and construction projects.
  • Oversee 4-5 accountants.
  • Monitor cash management, forecasting and risk management.
  • Interface with legal, 3rd party CPA firm, and auditors and lenders.
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures based on GAAP and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate training and development of all accounting staff.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
  • Act as liaison to company and property ownership regarding financial related issues.
  • Support the financial planning and analysis efforts.
  • Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure legal compliance on all financial functions.

Requirements

  • Strong finance-based analytical skills
  • 5 - 7 years of finance experience
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • CPA or MBA preferred but not required

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
  • CFO: 1 year (Preferred)
