About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Universal Health Services (UHS) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of Windmoor Healthcare of Clearwater, a psychiatric hospital. The CFO will ensure the financial health of the organization by monitoring accounts receivables, improving profitability, developing policies and procedures, preparing financial statements, and providing required reporting. This position plays a crucial role in strategic financial planning and management, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and corporate guidelines while supporting the hospital's operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and controls accounts receivables, ensuring cash collection goals are met and net revenue is accurately stated.
• Improves the profitability of the hospital by monitoring costs, payor mix, and length of stay to maximize reimbursement.
• Develops and monitors policies and procedures to ensure sufficient cash flow and reduced operating costs.
• Prepares monthly financial statements and reports through account analysis and internal controls.
• Provides required reporting and reconciliations for various departments and auditors.
• Prepares the annual budget in conjunction with UHS standards, reviewing prior financial results and discussing anticipated changes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a healthcare setting.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of hospital financial operations and federal/local tax regulations.
• Skilled at interpreting financial analysis and preparing reports using electronic spreadsheets.
