About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at New Horizons is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, which is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast. The CFO will manage billing, finance, and purchasing responsibilities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations. This full-time in-office position requires a tech-savvy individual with strong accounting and data analysis skills to support the organization's mission of improving community health and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative direction, leadership and supervision of staff
  • Completes employee performance evaluations
  • Prepares, interprets, analyzes and communicates financial reports and data to administration, management staff and the Board of Directors
  • Maintains General Ledger and prepares monthly financial reports for distribution to program managers and Board of Directors
  • Responsible for the coordination and outcome of all outside conducted financial audits
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual budget and performs special projects as assigned
  • Ensures timely filing of all federal and state reports as required
  • Ensures timely submission of all required financial, productivity, cost accounting and related reports to the Agency's external funding bodies
  • Develops, interprets, coordinates and administers the Agency's policies on finance, accounting, insurance, patient billing, internal controls, and management information systems
  • Supervises the centralized inpatient and outpatient charge posting, billing and collection operations

Requirements

  • BA in accounting or financial related field
  • CPA Preferred
  • Five (5) years' experience in the public sector, non-profit or healthcare setting, including at least two (2) years administrative and/or supervisory experience
  • Must be able to manage billing, finance and purchasing
  • Must have strong data analyst skills and ability to run, interpret and communicate reports
  • Knowledge of Tableau and Power BI, preferred
