About the position

The CFO will be responsible for overseeing and directing finance, IT, and procurement activities for a leading global pet food manufacturer. This role is crucial for optimizing efficiency and driving growth as the company expands its operations in the US. The CFO will manage financial strategies, ensure compliance with regulations, and lead a team to implement best practices in fiscal management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, direct, plan, and coordinate finance, IT, and procurement activities to optimize efficiency and drive growth.
  • Manage cash, investments, insurance, budgeting, financial reporting, and financial strategy.
  • Coordinate annual budget development and ensure cash flow compatibility with operations.
  • Implement best practices for fiscal management, project coordination, and cross-team communication.
  • Ensure compliance with financial legislation, federal, state, and local procurement requirements.
  • Follow and support all Company Safety policies and procedures.
  • Work with senior managers to develop budgets, ensure compliance, and report.
  • Research revenue opportunities, economic trends, and identify cost reduction areas.
  • Perform risk management, manage capital structure, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Monitor business performance and prepare detailed reports.
  • Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems.
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management policies.
  • Oversee IT strategies and projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree in finance or accounting preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance leadership role.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing industry experience.
  • Must be fluent in German (written and verbally).
  • 5+ years of SAP experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience leading procurement and IT with an excellent understanding of business metrics.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance, and other regulatory matters.
  • Expert in fiscal management principles and processes including resource management and needs assessment.
  • Understands financial reporting and works well in an international corporate environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
