About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at CASL is a visionary finance leader responsible for shaping the financial strategy and management of the organization. This role involves overseeing finance, accounting, and investment activities to support CASL's mission of empowering the community. The CFO will lead the development and implementation of financial systems and policies, ensuring compliance and sound financial management while fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor the implementation of long-range financial plans with CASL leadership and the Finance Committee.
• Analyze data, trends, and financial reports to make strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
• Enhance and monitor finance-related controls, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee comprehensive budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, and capital planning activities.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure efficient program services and operations.
• Manage and track restricted funds, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and financial analysis.
• Develop and monitor financial systems and processes for tracking and reporting philanthropic streams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• Ten or more years of relevant work experience at an executive level in finance, healthcare, or nonprofits.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of grant management and non-profit regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with financial-management and accounting software systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge and skills within the construction/property development arena.
• Experience in building financial structures for large fundraising campaigns.
