About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Sioux Land Community Health is a pivotal role responsible for the financial leadership of the organization within a healthcare setting. The successful candidate will possess solid experience and advanced knowledge in financial management, particularly in the context of healthcare. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a Master's degree being preferred. Additionally, candidates with CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certifications will be highly regarded. The CFO will lead the finance staff, which includes the Controller, Financial Manager, and Revenue Cycle Manager, in setting and achieving the financial goals of the organization. This includes overseeing all financial activities such as planning, budgeting, strategizing, maintaining, and forecasting. The CFO will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all audits and financial reporting requirements, as well as developing positive relationships with the CEO, Finance Committee, Board of Directors, external auditors, and payor sources. The role is not limited to these functions, as the CFO will also be expected to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and contribute to its overall success. In addition to technical financial expertise, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, inspiring their team to follow their vision and goals. Responsibilities

  • Lead finance staff in setting and achieving the financial goals of the organization.
  • Manage the Controller, Financial Manager, and Revenue Cycle Manager.

  • Ensure compliance with all audits and financial reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA or CMA certification highly preferred.
  • Solid experience in financial leadership within a healthcare setting.
  • Financial expertise with cost accounting and performance management systems.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, strategy, forecasting, and working with state/federal/and 3rd-party payors.
  • Advanced computer and data entry skills.
