About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Natus Sensory will play a pivotal role in the company's transition to an independent entity, working closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to establish financial strategies and ensure compliance with regulations. The CFO will oversee all fiscal functions, including treasury, tax, and IT, while being the primary financial contact for stakeholders. This position is crucial for guiding the company through its separation from Natus Medical/Neuro and establishing its financial foundation as a standalone organization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the Company's financial and strategic goals in collaboration with senior executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with the Sensory/Neuro Transition Services Agreements (TSA) and work towards a full separation.
  • Participate in the development of the Company's annual operating plan, budgets, and programs.
  • Plan, develop, direct, and evaluate the Company's fiscal function and performance.
  • Oversee the Company's IT role and develop its IT strategy for standalone operations.
  • Manage all aspects of financial planning and reporting to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Provide timely analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends to assist senior executives.
  • Identify, negotiate, and close M&A transactions, leading integration efforts to maximize ROI.
  • Enhance and enforce policies and procedures to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to financial professionals within the Company.
  • Drive continuous improvement in budgeting processes through education of department managers.
  • Offer strategic financial input regarding potential alliances, acquisitions, and investments.
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism.
  • Coach and mentor all Company financial professionals.
  • Maintain accountability for cash and debt management, optimizing bank relationships.
  • Advise on financial aspects of contracts, leases, and obligations.
  • Evaluate the finance division structure for continual improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA/MS highly desirable; CPA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Experience as a CFO in a PE-backed company, preferably in medical device, healthcare, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience with Oracle applications, Hyperion, and Adaptive Insights preferred.
  • Experience managing a multinational finance organization and implementing global financial reporting policies.
  • Strong experience in establishing and maintaining effective internal controls for financial reporting.
  • Disciplines around strategic planning, financial risk management, and financial systems.
  • Track record of successful M&A involvement, including negotiation and integration experience.
  • Superior communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Skilled in developing relationships with investors, shareholders, and the investment community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with foreign currency hedging and tax optimization policies.
