About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Jemez Health & Human Services is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the Fiscal Department and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. The CFO will provide strategic direction and management of financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. This position requires collaboration with senior leadership to develop financial strategies and ensure the organization meets its fiscal goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the Fiscal Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all funding agencies' regulations.
  • Supervise and manage select organization programs.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Participate in the development of JHHS's Strategic Planning.
  • Work closely with the Pueblo of Jemez Finance Director for financial coordination.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Director of JHHS.
  • Manage financial forecasting and budgets.
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning.
  • Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital and staff requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the Title V Self-Governance compact.
  • Evaluate financial internal controls and direct improvements.
  • Coordinate audit-related projects and communicate with outside parties.
  • Negotiate with third parties regarding vendor relationships.
  • Direct IT planning needs and system evaluations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
  • At least ten (10) years of Management and Director-level supervisory experience with a healthcare focus.
  • Certified Public Accountant status preferred.
  • New Mexico Driver's License.
  • Background Investigation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management regarding Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP and Private Insurance billing requirements.
  • Experience working with P.L. 93-638 organizations (Title I or Title V).
  • Knowledge of Performance improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of IHS or tribal health.
