About the position

Georgetown College is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial operations and strategy at a dynamic Christian college. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the College's financial health, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic direction to strengthen the financial base of the institution. This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively communicate financial information to various stakeholders and manage a team of directors across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the College's annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Provide effective cash management processes.
  • Work with external accountants to ensure successful completion of annual audits and tax reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and administer programs to improve financial operations and mitigate financial risks.
  • Propose strategies to support achievement of college objectives based on financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with FASB accounting principles and other applicable governance policies.
  • Provide timely budget and cash flow modeling and assorted financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Serve as Treasurer to the Board of Trustees and comply with fiscal policies.
  • Manage the College's banking and business relationships.
  • Provide management oversight of human resources, auditing, cash, investments, and IT functions.
  • Participate on College committees as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field required.
  • Relevant graduate degree and/or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years related experience with demonstrated increases in responsibility, preferably in higher education, healthcare, or non-profit organizations.
  • Previous experience supervising professional and non-professional employees.
  • Strong accounting, mathematical, verbal, and writing skills required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office and general ledger systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Anaplan would be helpful.
