About the position

Madison Regional Health System is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their senior management team. The CFO will oversee all financial decision-making processes to support the organization's mission and strategic goals, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and financial standards. This role involves strategic planning, financial controls, and collaboration with various departments to enhance the financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Key player in implementing the new financial software slated to go-live in March.
  • Overall responsibility of accounting, budgeting, audits, state and federal reporting requirements, and other financial planning for MRHS.
  • Work closely with all departments on analysis of data, goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop short-term and long-term financial goals for MRHS.
  • Develop creative ways to manage costs with supporting data for all areas of MRHS.
  • Participate in committee and medical staff meetings.
  • Attend and present financial information to the Board of Directors.
  • Manage MRHS investments to ensure optimization of MRHS assets and cash flow projections.
  • Manage contract negotiations with payers.
  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of the hospital's accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, supply chain, accounts receivable, insurance, and billing.
  • Accountable for planning, organization, coordination and development of efficient office systems and procedures.
  • Coordinates and prepares for the annual audit and cost report.

Requirements

  • Previous CFO or equivalent experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years financial/accounting/revenue cycle progression preferred.
  • Previous managerial experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Management or Healthcare Administration required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Infor software preferred.
