The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Evernorth is a pivotal role responsible for directing the financial operations of the organization and its subsidiaries. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including overseeing Finance, Tax, Audit, and Capital Management functions. The CFO will lead the finance and capital management staff, manage the real estate-owned loan portfolio, and handle Treasury and investor reporting. A key aspect of this role is maintaining strong relationships with investors and overseeing the formation and operations of Evernorth's multi-investor and proprietary funds. The CFO will also play an active role in the Executive and Senior leadership teams, contributing to the development of organizational goals, strategies, and performance metrics. In terms of specific responsibilities, the CFO will participate in the development of the organization's vision and strategy, as well as business and human resources policies. They will serve as a member of the Oversight Committee, providing guidance on capital raising, risk management, and conflicts of interest. The CFO will staff the Board Finance Committee, providing quarterly financial reports for board oversight, and will establish and maintain relationships with the Board of Directors and major investors. On the corporate finance side, the CFO will oversee accounting, audit, tax, budgeting, cash flow management, and insurance activities. They will be responsible for internal accounting controls, manage the corporate investment portfolio, and coordinate the establishment of annual operating budgets. The CFO will also supervise loan servicing and financial transactions for New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) projects and ensure compliance with grant and funding agreements. In capital management, the CFO will oversee the Capital Management Department, participate in the formation and management of Evernorth's funds, and ensure the integrity of financial models and reporting to investors. They will also monitor loan portfolios, assess risks, and oversee compliance aspects of Treasury programs. This role reports directly to the President and supervises key financial positions within the organization.
