About the position

Northwest Center is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team. This key leadership role will be instrumental in supporting our strategic growth initiatives and advancing our mission services. The CFO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to drive growth, oversee capital investments, and manage financial reporting. The successful candidate will work with both internal business leaders and external partners, such as banks and financial institutions. We seek an individual with a proven ability to cultivate relationships and a diverse background in various industries. This role demands a leader adept at optimizing resources to meet Northwest Center's strategic goals, attracting and retaining top talent, and establishing a strong financial infrastructure. Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with division leaders, front-line staff, the Executive team, the Board, and key external stakeholders, including donors, capital sources, and corporate advisors.
  • Provide leadership in managing complex strategic transitions such as mergers, acquisitions, lending agreements, strategic alliances, and divestitures.
  • Directly manage the Controller and oversee the broader accounting and finance teams.
  • Create an organization and staffing plan to support significant, ongoing growth across diverse business and mission segments.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent to build a strong financial infrastructure.
  • Manage the short and long-term capital structure to finance the company's strategy, sustain growth, raise debt and equity financing, and monitor the company's cost of capital.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships across various stakeholders.
  • Diverse background in various industries, particularly in finance and accounting.
  • Experience in managing complex strategic transitions such as mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and develop finance teams.
  • Ability to optimize resources to meet strategic goals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a social enterprise or nonprofit organization.
