About the position

Knapp Medical Center is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our 227-bed acute care, not-for-profit hospital located in Weslaco, Texas. The CFO will play a critical role in overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring that we maintain our commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to the Rio Grande Valley community. This position requires a strategic leader who can navigate the complexities of healthcare finance, including revenue cycle management and expense control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute care hospital finance, with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role. As the CFO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that align with the hospital's goals and objectives. You will work closely with the leadership team to drive financial performance, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise in billing and collections, as well as your working knowledge of Central Billing Offices (CBOs), will be essential in optimizing our revenue cycle processes. Strong communication skills are a must, as you will be collaborating with medical staff and management to foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency. Requirements

  • CFO experience in an acute healthcare setting required.
  • Experience with a 100 - 200 bed acute care facility.
  • Strong understanding of Revenue Cycle Management and expense control.
  • Billing and Collections experience is essential.
  • Working knowledge with Central Billing Offices (CBOs).
  • Strong communication skills with Medical Staff and Management.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities are necessary.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; CPA certification preferred.
