About the position

Kellogg Community Credit Union is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization's financial strategies and practices. This role involves directing financial plans, policies, and accounting practices while collaborating closely with the CEO and senior leadership team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in corporate finance, accounting, and investment strategies, along with strong communication skills and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cash, investments, and liquidity in accordance with board-established policies and prudent financial management practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the adequacy of the Allowance for Loan Loss (ALL) and make recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors for adjustments.
  • Review reports to analyze projections of income and expenditures against actual figures and suggest methods for improving the planning process.
  • Develop and maintain a system of internal controls and financial procedures to ensure the safety and soundness of assets.
  • Monitor and report to the CEO and Board of Directors on the financial performance of the Credit Union.
  • Research and make recommendations for improvements in performance and investments that align with desired risk and returns.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations, coordinating with examiners and auditors as necessary.
  • Assess and analyze new opportunities, including calculating ROI and cost-benefit analysis for mergers, new equipment, or technology.
  • Promote strong, positive, and productive working relationships across departments, reinforcing collaboration and communication.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial and ACO statements to the Board of Directors, ensuring the Credit Union's financial position is accurately stated.

Requirements

  • Ten to fifteen years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • CPA, CFA, CMA, or MBA preferred
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Passion for the credit union industry
