About the position

The Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, particularly Truckload shippers, within a local transportation and logistics company. This role focuses on managing customer relationships, processing orders, and ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. The position requires effective communication with clients and their suppliers, as well as the ability to navigate various customer portals to provide transparency regarding shipment statuses.

Responsibilities

• Accept and build loads from customers, ensuring accurate processing.
• Provide transparency to customers on the status of their loads through portal updates.
• Identify issues and implement solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide timely updates.
• Manage customer bid boards and TMS systems effectively.
• Understand customer processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Process all inbound, outbound, and return shipments using TMS software (Mercury Gate).
• Become an influential partner to the customer base and expand the portfolio.
• Oversee daily account success and engage in customer issue resolution.
• Quote all waterfall and spot opportunities quickly and accurately.
• Build strong internal relationships with team members and leaders.
• Measure KPI and financial success through strategic account management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a related field preferred.
• Experience with Transportation Management Software (Mercury Gate) preferred but not required.
• Transportation experience and working knowledge of the industry preferred but not required.
