About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Wacker Chemical Corporation is responsible for directing and managing the financial operations of the company in the USA, overseeing a team of Directors and a total departmental staff of around 60. This role includes board and fiduciary responsibilities, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and managing risk while supporting multiple business divisions. The CFO will also collaborate closely with corporate heads in Munich and report directly to the CEO of WACKER USA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a staff of 4 Directors responsible for various financial functions.
  • Prepare financial and tax accounts and statements, working with auditors to receive unqualified audit opinions.
  • Prepare monthly financial and operating reports for management in the USA and Germany.
  • Coordinate rolling forecasts and annual plans for operational control at divisional and legal entity levels.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies issued by the parent company.
  • Formulate and issue policies to comply with U.S. accounting and tax requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls in accordance with group policies.
  • Manage risk in the region and approve customer credit limits and terms.
  • Oversee the Information Technology function in North America according to global IT standards.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in accounting/controlling or a related field or an MBA.
  • 10+ years of related experience in a global matrix environment, preferably with European headquarters.
  • CPA recommended.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software, particularly SAP.
  • Ability to analyze company performance and propose improvements across business units.
  • Basic understanding of IT core processes and technology stack.
