About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a critical role in overseeing the financial activities of the credit union, assisting the President/CEO in directing financial reports, forecasts, and overall financial strategy. This position is responsible for treasury, budgeting, accounting, asset and liability management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The CFO leads a team of professionals, focusing on operational and strategic goals while promoting the credit union's mission and core values.

Responsibilities

• Assist the President/CEO in overseeing financial activities and reporting.
• Direct the preparation of financial reports and forecasts.
• Manage treasury, budgeting, tax, accounting, and financial control activities.
• Counsel management on fiscal control and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and safeguard the organization's assets.
• Lead and supervise the Accounting, Business Reporting, and Finance teams.
• Oversee budget planning and administration processes.
• Manage investment and borrowing portfolios to achieve earnings and safeguard assets.
• Monitor interest rate, credit, and portfolio risk status.
• Engage with the community through volunteer efforts and support of core values.
• Direct the Analytics team to support marketing and product delivery efforts.

Requirements

• Experience in investment strategies and management of liquidity and investment portfolios.
• A college degree and a professional certificate or a post-graduate degree; CFA, CPA, and CMA preferred.
• Expertise in generally accepted accounting principles and state and federal regulations.
• Experience in budget forecasting and regulatory reporting.
• Knowledge of income tax regulations for Thrift institutions.
