About the position

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at our organization, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all financial decisions and processes align with our mission to provide high-quality integrated health care to individuals and families in Western Massachusetts. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the Finance and Billing departments, preparing and monitoring the organization’s annual operating budget, and managing cash flow effectively. You will also represent the fiscal interests of the organization in external business relationships, ensuring that our financial strategies support our mission-driven goals. In this highly visible role, you will be expected to demonstrate a steadfast yet flexible approach to decision-making, balancing fiscal responsibility with a vision for growth and expansion. You will be a key member of the Senior Management team, contributing to organizational strategic planning and site expansion implementation. Your ability to foster a collaborative and respectful team environment will be essential, as you will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that our financial health supports our commitment to community well-being. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring alignment with the mission.
  • Supervise the Finance and Billing departments to ensure efficient financial management.
  • Prepare and monitor the organization’s annual operating budget.
  • Manage cash flow and financial forecasting to support operational needs.
  • Represent the fiscal interests of the organization in external business relationships.
  • Contribute to organizational strategic planning and site expansion implementation as a member of the Senior Management team.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in accounting or business administration.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in finance.
  • Experience managing finances in healthcare is required.
  • Experience managing finances for a non-profit is preferred but not required.
  • Experience managing finances for a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQCHC) is strongly preferred but not required.
  • CPA experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing finances for a non-profit organization.
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQCHC).
  • CPA certification.
