About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at YWCA of Western MA is responsible for safeguarding the organization's assets through effective financial management and oversight. This role involves leading the development and monitoring of the annual budget, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and providing strategic input as a member of the senior management team. The CFO will also manage financial reporting, coordinate audits, and oversee facility-related activities, all while supporting the YWCA's mission to empower survivors and eliminate racism.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the management team to meet the Agency's strategic goals.
• Administer all financial plans and budgets with accuracy and integrity.
• Monitor revenue and expense tracking against the budget and keep management informed.
• Oversee project/program and grants accounting and staff.
• Review and maintain internal accounting controls to safeguard YWCA assets.
• Manage Agency-owned and rented facilities, overseeing maintenance and service needs.
• Participate in collective bargaining processes for Union labor contract negotiations.

Requirements

• MBA or finance-specific degree such as accounting preferred.
• Minimum of five years' experience in coordinating audit activities and managing reporting.
• Experience in budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Excellent analytic, communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
• High ethical standards with integrity, self-motivation, and reliability.
• Five years or more experience with automated accounting systems required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with RFPs and RFQs.
• Systems implementation experience preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
