About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) is responsible for overseeing the Finance department's operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing strategic direction for financial planning and budgeting. This role involves leading a team, managing the agency's budget, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve the agency's financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate operations of the Finance department, establishing policies and guidelines within federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee the agency's budget and fiscal structure, evaluating past financial performance.
  • Establish and maintain operating budgets, regularly reporting actual and forecasted revenues, profits, and losses.
  • Provide strategic direction for the Finance department, ensuring successful implementation of programs and completion of mission-critical goals.
  • Conduct Finance department senior staff meetings and participate in executive-level OMES management meetings.
  • Lead budget activities for the Finance department and provide guidance on budgeting to the rest of the agency.
  • Provide counseling, performance evaluation, training, motivation, discipline, and development for Finance department employees.
  • Coordinate with OMES Director, divisions, staff, elected officials, and other stakeholders on policy and legislation matters for the Finance department.
  • Communicate and implement the vision, mission, and values of OMES within the Finance division.
  • Seek feedback from the agency director, peers, subordinate staff, and employees to develop a plan to execute goals and objectives of the Finance department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Ten years of experience in financial management.
  • Certified Procurement Officer certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
