About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key leadership role at the Paradise Irrigation District, responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting functions of the District. The CFO will work under the direction of the Board of Directors, assisting the District Manager in protecting District assets and maintaining budget controls, while also performing complex accounting functions and managing investments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the financial and accounting functions of the District.
• Assist the District Manager with the protection of District assets and maintenance of budget controls.
• Perform complex accounting functions.
• Invest District funds and provide direction for implementing financial policies and programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least five years of responsible professional experience in a management or supervisory capacity in financial and fiscal management.
• Extensive experience in financial and fiscal management within private sector industry or independent special enterprise districts.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA license is desirable.
