About the position

First U.S. Community Credit Union, a well-established financial institution founded in 1936, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial strategy and operations. With a membership base of over 30,000 and a commitment to enhancing the financial well-being of its members, the credit union is looking for a candidate who combines strong financial acumen with a collaborative mindset. The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the credit union, overseeing accounting and payment processing operations, and ensuring the organization meets its growth and profitability objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with the credit union's mission of making a difference in the community through financial services. This role requires a strong leader who can drive long-term growth goals, actively contribute to strategic planning, and demonstrate excellent execution skills. The CFO will work closely with the President/CEO and the executive team to implement strategic initiatives, necessitating outstanding communication abilities and technical expertise. As a strategic financial leader, the CFO will excel in developing and implementing effective strategies, actions, programs, and processes that align with the business objectives of First U.S. Community Credit Union. The preferred candidate will be solutions-oriented and inclusive, adept at researching, evaluating, recommending, and implementing financial and accounting solutions that foster growth opportunities. Additionally, the candidate should be committed to career development and envision an active role in long-term succession planning within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the financial strategy to support the credit union's growth and profitability objectives.
  • Oversee accounting and payment processing operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Collaborate with the President/CEO and executive team to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Drive long-term growth goals and actively contribute to strategic planning.
  • Communicate effectively with the executive leadership team, staff at all levels, and the Board of Directors.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement financial and accounting solutions to foster growth opportunities.
  • Participate in long-term succession planning and career development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Over 7 years of progressively responsible experience in financial institution accounting and financial management.
  • Significant supervisory and management experience, preferably within the credit union industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • MBA and/or CPA is highly desirable.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $162,953 - $271,589 annually.
