The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a critical role in the financial stewardship of the organization, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This position is responsible for serving as the principal advisor on all financial matters that impact both the short-term and long-term financial success of the organization. The CFO will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and administration of financial controls, analysis, and operating systems. This includes establishing policies that align with general policy guidelines and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, tax regulations, and federal and state laws. In addition to these responsibilities, the CFO is accountable for the preparation and review of monthly and annual operating financial statements. This role also involves managing the payroll system and all accounting functions, as well as maintaining comprehensive reports and procedures related to cash management and disbursements. The CFO will also be responsible for preparing and reviewing contracts with preferred providers, conducting ongoing analyses of contractual arrangements, and recommending necessary renegotiations or the creation of new contracts to optimize financial performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial leadership within a healthcare setting, particularly in a hospital or integrated healthcare system. This role requires a deep understanding of financial operations, budgeting, reimbursement strategies, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The CFO will also be expected to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management, the Board of Directors, and medical staff.
