About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a vital member of the Executive Management Team, responsible for overseeing all operational, transactional, and strategic financial initiatives within the company. This role requires a strategic financial leader who drives cross-functional results and accountability, providing insights and influence on all strategic matters and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure best practice efforts in all financial management and control-related practices.
  • Oversee financial reporting and compliance.
  • Manage internal control, audit, and compliance processes.
  • Handle U.S. and international accounting and tax matters.
  • Lead U.S. and international corporate finance activities.
  • Manage financial operations and corporate governance.
  • Advise the Board of Directors on financial matters.
  • Oversee corporate capital allocation and investment management.
  • Act as a credible financial spokesperson for the company.
  • Lead financial activities related to capital raises, M&A, and business investments.
  • Provide insights to optimize transactional opportunities.
  • Drive investor relations with industry analysts and Wall Street.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to challenge norms and develop strategies for financial opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance; MBA or advanced degree preferred; CPA or other professional designation required.
  • 15+ years of progressive financial experience, including financial reporting, general accounting, tax, cash management, corporate governance, and investor relations.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Chief Financial Officer for a publicly traded U.S. company.
  • Strong experience managing financial reporting and compliance for a public company, particularly with international exchanges and the SEC.
  • Outstanding public speaking, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with Senior Management, Board of Directors, independent auditors, outside counsel, and the banking/investment community.
  • Strong results orientation, sound judgement, and decision-making ability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong deal-making/transactional experience in mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and strategic corporate partnerships.
