About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Gulf Winds Credit Union is a key leadership role responsible for driving financial results and shaping the long-term future of the organization. The CFO oversees the Accounting, Finance, and Risk Management functions, ensuring alignment with the Credit Union's strategic objectives. This position involves monitoring performance, mitigating risks, and fostering growth while maintaining oversight of liquidity and interest rate risk. The CFO collaborates with executive management and provides guidance to subordinate leaders, ensuring effective management of financial health and stability.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and monitors Accounting, Finance, and Risk Management operations for the entire Credit Union.
  • Collaborates with divisional leaders to develop and maintain a future-focused divisional strategic plan.
  • Oversees the management and maintenance of the Credit Union's ALM models and profitability.
  • Manages financial analysis to establish a system of appropriate internal controls and useful/actionable financial data.
  • Formulates and recommends operating policies and objectives or changes in existing policies and objectives.
  • Reviews laws and regulations that impact compliance with respect to financial functions.
  • Analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and provides analysis of the information presented.
  • Participates in Credit Union management issues through standing and ad hoc committees.

Requirements

  • Ten plus years of progressively responsible experience in managing Accounting and Finance functions.
  • Experience in Asset Liability Management and Risk Management or Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a plus.
  • Minimum five years of senior executive management experience.
  • A master's degree or a bachelor's degree plus professional certification (e.g., CPA).
  • High level of interpersonal skills critical for motivating and influencing others.
