About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is responsible for directing the financial activities of the hospital in alignment with its policies and objectives. This executive role involves managing financial departments, preparing annual budgets, and analyzing operational costs to enhance revenue. The CFO collaborates closely with the Hospital CEO and other senior leaders to ensure financial integrity and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the financial and departmental activities in accordance with hospital policies and objectives.
  • Manage all financial departments including Accounting, Reimbursement, Managed Care, Health Information, and Utilization Review.
  • Prepare internal financial reports that accurately reflect the hospital's financial position.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial data and reports required by government and regulatory agencies.
  • Identify and report undesirable trends and potential business opportunities, making recommendations for action.
  • Assist the CEO in developing long and short-range operational plans, including service demand and resource availability analyses.
  • Develop operational and capital budgets aligned with hospital objectives.
  • Administer general accounting and patient business services in accordance with established policies.
  • Forecast the impact of business decisions on financial results.
  • Monitor financial and economic information to identify trends affecting business operations.
  • Communicate financial performance with stakeholders, including senior administration and facility staff.
  • Review denials issues and trends to maximize net reimbursement for the facility.
  • Maintain accuracy of the charge master and review contracts for profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in a Hospital Controller, Assistant CFO, or VP of Finance role preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
