About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the lead financial executive of the Bank, overseeing all financial and accounting operations. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with accounting principles, tax laws, and regulatory requirements while accurately reflecting the Bank's financial position. The CFO participates in strategic planning, conducts financial reporting, prepares budgets, and implements accounting policies to maintain strong internal controls. Additionally, the CFO supervises the accounting department staff and coordinates coverage across all related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Asset Liability Management process, co-chairing the ALCO and responsible for monthly reporting.
  • Prepare the Bank's annual operating budget with input from senior management and analyze variances throughout the year.
  • Develop and administer financial and accounting policies to ensure accurate external reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely preparation of internal financial reports for decision-making by the Board of Directors and senior management.
  • Oversee the Investment Portfolio of the bank, chairing the Investment committee and ensuring accurate reporting of investment transactions.
  • Provide oversight for internal accounting controls and coordinate annual Internal Audit Risk Assessment with outside counsel.
  • Manage tax planning and reporting for the Bank and its Holding Company, coordinating with outside tax counsel.
  • Assist with special projects requiring financial oversight, including branch openings/expansions and new product offerings.
  • Coach and develop direct report employees, setting goals and evaluating performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with business/accounting emphasis
  • 7+ years of bank experience in finance/accounting, CPA designation preferred
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • At least two years of previous leadership experience
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and banking regulations
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop others
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Ability to work with confidential materials
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment and meet departmental goals
