Marin Community Clinics (MCC), established in 1972, is a multi-clinic network that provides a comprehensive range of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty, and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), MCC serves nearly 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County, receiving national recognition from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for its commitment to health services. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and regularly interacting with the Board of Directors (BOD). The CFO is tasked with overseeing the financial operations of MCC, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as grant requirements. This includes leading the annual budgeting process, producing monthly financial statements, and performance measurement reports for the BOD and internal management. The CFO is also responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). In this role, the CFO will maintain all accounting records and will be responsible for the development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to evaluate operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies, trends, billing, collections, and revenue enhancement opportunities. The position requires a strong background in financial management within healthcare and/or non-profit environments, with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience preferred. The CFO will also oversee auditing, accounting, purchasing, insurance, investing, and long-range forecasting processes, ensuring that all financial reporting data is accurate and timely. The CFO will serve as staff to the Finance Committee of the BOD, directing and analyzing studies of economic, business, and financial conditions that impact the organization’s policies and operations. This role includes providing orientation, direction, supervision, and evaluation of finance department staff, while also facilitating teamwork across departments. The CFO will participate in the executive leadership team to develop organizational goals and strategies, design policies, and coordinate activities, and will lead research efforts related to strategic service line growth when requested by the CEO. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
