About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the financial strategy and operations of the North American division of a high-growth engineering organization. This role is critical in shaping financial strategies to drive sustainable growth, optimize financial performance, and manage risk. The CFO will serve as a key advisor to the CEO and will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and fostering a high-performing finance function aligned with the company's vision and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial aspects of the business, including planning, analysis, reporting, risk management, and compliance.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support business objectives.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards.
  • Assess the financial health of the organization and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Guide internal control and audit processes, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and monitor financial KPIs, conducting margin analysis and cost assessments.
  • Manage cash flow, credit arrangements, and relationships with external financial institutions.
  • Lead and mentor finance and accounting teams, fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including M&A activities, through due diligence and financial modeling.
  • Enhance financial reporting systems and ERP platforms to improve data accuracy and streamline processes.
  • Partner with the executive team to drive business transformation and optimize internal processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Extensive experience in a senior finance role overseeing corporate finance and strategic planning.
  • Proven experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and compliance with accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP).
  • Strong background in M&A activities, including due diligence and financial assessments.
  • Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and financial management software.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and business transformation.
