About the position

The CFO is responsible for directing the financial functions of the corporation, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and financial management practices. This role involves strategic partnership with senior leadership, providing financial insights, and overseeing the organization's finance and accounting functions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's finance and accounting function and performance.
  • Participate in the development of the company's plans and programs as a strategic partner providing guidance to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Provide timely and accurate historical financial information and analysis of financial results to identify key business trends.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the company.
  • Drive the annual operating and capital budgeting process, improving it through education of department managers on financial issues.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism to meet operating needs.
  • Ensure sufficient internal controls are in place.
  • Identify business and financial risks to the company.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the company's bank(s) and oversee borrowing and deposits.
  • Advise on financial and legal aspects of contracts the corporation may enter into.
  • Coordinate the annual audit and tax planning with the company's public accounting firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10 to 15 years of related experience, preferably as a CFO.
  • National designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Strategic visionary with sound technical skills and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
