About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at WEOKIE Federal Credit Union is responsible for executing comprehensive financial strategies that optimize the balance sheet to benefit stakeholders, including members and employees. The CFO oversees all financial activities, including asset and liability management, financial reporting, compliance, and risk management, while collaborating with the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors to achieve strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team to achieve strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent through Liberating Leadership.
  • Chair the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) to manage profits and risk.
  • Align committee activities with strategic goals as a member of various committees.
  • Act as the primary contact with external auditors and regulatory examiners.
  • Attend Board and Supervisory Committee meetings to communicate financial conditions.
  • Develop strategic financial plans to optimize risk-based earnings potential.
  • Design and monitor financial systems supporting credit union operations.
  • Assist departments in resource efficiency and performance improvement.
  • Maintain the credit union's investment portfolio and execute transactions.
  • Oversee timely completion of quarterly NCUA regulatory reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations governing credit unions.
  • Work closely with VP Accounting & Controller and VP Compliance & Risk for departmental excellence.
  • Interview, hire, evaluate, and train employees within assigned areas.
  • Manage capital levels and ensure strong Net Economic Value ratios.
  • Administer the Stakeholder Scorecard employee rewards program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • At least 10 years of work experience in public accounting, controlling, financial analytics, and/or corporate finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • Proven ability to develop sound policies and practices for improved operating controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff growth and development.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert level knowledge of Excel preferred, along with experience with FiServ products.
