About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Spring-Green Enterprises will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial planning, accounting practices, human resources, and risk management operations of the company and its subsidiaries. This position is crucial for developing financial strategies that align with organizational objectives and ensuring the overall financial health of the company as it continues to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the organization's financial planning and accounting practices.
  • Develop and implement the organization's fiscal function and financial performance.
  • Participate in annual and quarterly strategic planning meetings to establish financial strategies.
  • Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning and new programs.
  • Oversee banking relationships and arrange for debt and equity financing as needed.
  • Manage the capital request and budgeting process.
  • Develop and implement financial/budget training for department leaders.
  • Supervise the due diligence process and assist in the negotiation of acquisitions.
  • Organize, plan, and oversee the budgeting process for the organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Enhance and enforce financial policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and issue monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Work with the franchise operations team to improve monitoring of franchise owner financial performance.
  • Oversee casualty insurance and workers' compensation programs.
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the organization.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
  • Ensure record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and governmental agencies.
  • Manage third parties related to risk management functions.
  • Oversee employee benefit plans and consult with the executive team on options.

Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred in finance, accounting, or MBA (CPA or Certified Management Accountant).
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive financial, management, and human resources experience in an organization of at least 50-200 employees.
  • Bachelor's degree required in finance, accounting, or related field or 10-15 years of related experience.
  • Superior skills in business acumen, ethical conduct, leadership, influence management, analytical abilities, problem solving, and strategic aptitude.
