About the position

The CFO will oversee all financial reporting aspects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements while managing cash flow and investment activities. In addition to financial management, the CFO will be responsible for risk management, identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks, and implementing policies to safeguard company assets. The role also involves collaborating with senior management to develop long-term plans and strategic initiatives, evaluating the financial impact of strategic decisions, and effectively communicating financial performance and strategy to both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing the company's financial strategy in line with overarching business objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and collections.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Manage cash flow, investment activities, and financial risk management.
  • Manage bank and other financing relationships.
  • Oversee information technology systems and conversion of financial accounting systems to ensure efficiency.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks.
  • Implement policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term plans and strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of strategic decisions.
  • Present financial reports and analysis to the executive team, board of advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate financial performance and strategy effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years as a Chief Financial Officer in the Independent Lab industry (not hospitals).
  • CPA, accounting or equivalent certification.
  • 10+ years of overall finance experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Accounting Functions and Auditing.
  • Experience in managing Budget Processes.
