About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the World Resources Institute (WRI) is a key executive role responsible for overseeing the organization's financial management strategy. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of WRI's operations globally, reporting directly to the CEO & President and collaborating closely with the Managing Director for Global Delivery. The CFO will lead the development and implementation of global financial systems, policies, and procedures to support WRI's mission of addressing environmental and economic challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement WRI's financial management strategy.
• Oversee the development of global financial systems, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate financial operations across WRI's global network.
• Identify strategic resource needs and support them financially and operationally.
• Provide analytical and forecasting insights to inform decision-making.
• Collaborate with the executive team to ensure effective financial governance.

• Proven experience in financial management at an executive level.
• Strong analytical and forecasting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to make difficult decisions under pressure.
• Experience in developing and implementing financial systems and policies.
