This is a strategic leadership role in a high-growth private company, offering an outstanding opportunity to partner with an entrepreneurial Managing Director/Owner. This role is broader in scope than a traditional CFO position and will serve as a key strategic partner for the Managing Director/Owner. The CFO will be responsible for building, leading, and developing the finance team, overseeing strategic planning processes, optimizing business operations, and managing finance, accounts, cash flow, and reporting. Additionally, the role encompasses commercial projects, risk management, banking, disputes, people performance, recruitment, IT infrastructure, property, facilities, capital projects, and acquisitions, including integration. Responsibilities

  • Build, lead & develop the finance team.
  • Oversee the strategic planning process.
  • Optimize business operations and grow profits.
  • Manage finance, accounts, cash flow, and reporting.
  • Handle commercial projects, risk management, banking, and disputes.
  • Oversee people performance and recruitment.
  • Manage IT infrastructure, systems, and support.
  • Oversee property, facilities, and capital projects.
  • Lead acquisitions, including integration.

Requirements

  • Strong career progression in finance, commercial, or general management.
  • Experience in a high-growth private business working for the owner.
  • Experience in putting in place processes and systems to professionalize the business during growth stages.
  • M&A experience with 'bolt-on' business acquisitions, including integration.
  • Commercial experience, including contract negotiation and dispute management.
