About the position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at GLIDE is responsible for leading the financial strategy and operations of the organization, ensuring fiscal health and compliance with regulations. This role involves overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, while collaborating closely with the executive team and board of directors to drive financial performance and operational excellence. The CFO will also play a key role in developing new revenue sources aligned with GLIDE's mission of social justice and community empowerment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning for the organization, including short-term and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Participate in organization-wide strategic planning with the Executive Team.
  • Oversee organizational risk management by implementing assessment protocols and controls.
  • Build a reporting infrastructure for comprehensive financial data management.
  • Represent the organization to financial partners, including institutions and donors.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and monitor policies for transparency.
  • Manage the organizational budget and develop fiscal modeling projections for the Board of Directors.
  • Act as staff liaison to the Finance and Audit Committees, presenting financial information as needed.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures for all financial activities.
  • Oversee implementation of financial reporting and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead annual audits and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting best practices.
  • Oversee Glide's real estate portfolio and support the Board Real Estate Committee.
  • Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Review and improve accounting systems and financial documentation processes.
  • Oversee cash, investment, and retirement plan assets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible nonprofit accounting experience, including management of accounting programs.
  • Experience managing a budget of $10 million or more.
  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience as a CFO in mid-to-large organizations, preferably nonprofit.
  • Excellent financial acumen with experience in internal controls and organizational systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and executive presence.
  • Experience working with large Board committees and managing Board engagement.
  • Data-driven mindset with excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Experience with financial systems like Blackbaud/Financial Edge, Adaptive, and/or Concur.
  • Experience in a nonprofit or community-based social service agency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
  • Familiarity with fundraising and capital campaign financials.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $250,000 - $285,000 per year.
