About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Neighborhood Health Center is responsible for leading the development and implementation of IT strategies that support the organization's mission of providing impactful healthcare. This role involves overseeing IT performance metrics, managing the IT budget, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. The CIO will also optimize the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system and lead projects to enhance data security and efficiency across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the process to develop a new IT strategic plan every 2-3 years.
• Define IT performance metrics based on the organization's overall objectives.
• Develop forward-looking models and initiatives that provide insight into clinical operations and efficiency.
• Plan and manage the annual IT work plan and budgetary needs.
• Standardize IT processes across the organization and hold staff accountable for policy adherence.
• Lead and manage projects to optimize the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system and VoIP systems.
• Serve as the in-house expert on HIPAA Security and act as the HIPAA Security Officer.
• Align IT risk management with organization-wide risk management.
• Ensure secure data interfaces between EHR and other systems, leading projects to create new interfaces as needed.

Requirements

• BS or BA Degree required; Master's preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience within a Healthcare Information role.
• Experience in a senior role, partnering with executive staff to develop and implement IT strategies.
• Significant experience in all facets of IT, including systems applications, database administration, and telecommunications.
• Deep experience in troubleshooting and crisis management.
• Experience hiring, developing, and coaching teams.
• Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
