About the position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Associate Vice President of Technology Services at Monroe Community College is a leadership role responsible for directing the college's technology planning, implementation, and maintenance. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President of Administrative Services, the CIO ensures that technology services align with the college's mission and strategic goals. This position promotes excellence and innovation in serving a diverse student body and community, while also addressing emerging issues and trends in technology.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the College's technology planning, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Manages all functions related to Technology Services and Print Services.
  • Oversees administrative computing services, communication and network services, data security, and customer support.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations regarding information technology policies and procedures.
  • Exercises budget authority and administrative approvals for technology services.
  • Provides development opportunities for staff and promotes a culture of student engagement and success.
  • Develops collaborative relationships across divisions and with other college constituents.
  • Leads, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates direct reports and departments.
  • Serves as a liaison to College committees and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive administrative experience leading Information Technology organizations.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Ability to integrate data into decision making for effective practice and policy.
  • Expertise in information security frameworks and standards.
  • Experience managing and implementing progressive change for continuous improvement.
  • Experience overseeing multifaceted systems for optimal service delivery.
  • Creative problem-solving skills for technological and budget challenges.
  • Experience in complex project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience within a diverse higher education institution.
  • Previous experience as a Chief Information Officer.
  • Experienced user of higher education management systems like Ellucian Banner and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or other languages.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $120,000 to $130,000 based on experience and internal equity.
