About the position

Bryn Mawr College is seeking a dynamic and collaborative leader to serve as the Chief Information Officer and Constance A. Jones Director of Libraries (CIO & Director). This role is pivotal in advancing the College's integrated IT/library organization, fostering a culture of innovation and inclusiveness, and ensuring alignment with institutional goals. The CIO & Director will oversee the Library & Information Technology Services (LITS) organization, manage a significant budget, and lead a team of professional staff while collaborating with Tri-College partners.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the merged Library & Information Technology Services (LITS) organization.
  • Manage a budget of more than $17M and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Provide cohesive leadership across library and IT functions, supporting collaboration.
  • Align technology and library investments with institutional goals.
  • Contribute to decision-making as part of the President's senior staff.
  • Manage change in the library's role in the 21st century, focusing on technology and physical spaces.
  • Co-sponsor the Workday implementation for efficiency and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Information Security to enhance IT and data security practices.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in library and information technology services.
  • Strong understanding of the evolving role of libraries in higher education.
  • Experience managing large budgets and overseeing professional staff.
  • Ability to foster collaboration across diverse campus constituencies.
  • Strategic vision for integrating technology and library services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education administration.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Workday.
  • Knowledge of data security practices in an academic setting.
